Reasons For Not Getting Proper Sleep

One can live without food for few days. Even one can live without water for 2 or 3 days. But it is always difficult to imagine a life without sleep. Usually it is said that for active brain to function, for stress less life, for powerful memory, one need to have Proper sleep. It is a biological necessity as our immune system requires sleep to fight off disease and endure illness. One of the reasons for health conditions like Depression and Obesity is lack of proper sleep. Further Sleep disorders such as insomnia and sleep apnea also may lead to fatigue, irritability, forgetfulness, stress and high blood pressure. In short, Lack of sleep affects emotional and physical health. But generally there are certain difficulties one may face while sleep.

You get up several times to visit the Bathroom: An enlarged prostate gland can push against the bladder, urging frequent urination. If you're wide awake after a 2 am then bright bathroom lights make it harder to fall back asleep.

You sleep more than 10 hours: Some people sleep for 4-5 hours in the day. One needs to sleep only 6-8 hours maximum. If you have slept earlier you might be wakeful that night. And may find difficulty in having deep sleep.

Strong light in the Bedroom or next room may distract you from sleeping. The light and volume of the TV may also may give you trouble.

Children and Pets make disturbances: Crying children is common problem most of the parents face. Let him cry it out a little. "Babies need to learn to go back to sleep on their own". Crying doesn't necessarily mean they're in pain. Leave baby for some time, they will automatically go to sleep naturally. Sometimes children may also cry if they are disturbed, unwell or have seen some scary dream. Some of the people have habit to sleep with dog, cat etc. these animal don’t need deep sleep rather they are light sleeper. Pets are also highly restless and may keep you awake at night.

You had a heavy Dinner: Dinner should be a very light one. It is advisable not to sleep immediately after dinner. One may walk a little after dinner if possible. Indigestion also is a cause of restlessness.

Midnight Parties at Neighborhood and Pet troubles: Music is playing on high on the neighborhood or the dog is howling outside making it difficult to sleep. Sometimes the quarrel of neighbors or the high volume of TV may also trouble you.

Your Partner snores like a stock-car engine: Snoring occurs when people sleep on their backs. Here's why: Facial muscles relax, and the tongue slouches to the back of the throat, partially obstructing airflow.

• You are smoking cigarettes and consuming tea, coffee or alcahol as you ponder your sleeplessness. Smoking is harmful for deep sleep so, quit smoking. (First time you've heard that?) Not only is nicotine a stimulant, but smokers may also experience withdrawal at night, causing them to awaken or sleep fitfully. Consuming tea also keeps you awake for prolonged periods.

• Your partner or child has problems in sleeping: Generally high-school start times are out of teens' natural sleep rhythms. Student’s brain is programmed as per their future routine. So they have planning in their subconscious mind which is disturbing factor and some times as a result they talk while sleeping and keep disturbing us. Sometimes people talk in sleep which is highly disturbing in the night time.

You eat some acidic medicines : Some Medicines can affect sleep patterns, and doctors don't always advise you of the risks. If you suffer from insomnia, grill your Doctor about your prescription's effects.

Enjoy Life - Short Story

Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his beedi. Suddenly a rich businessman passing by approached him and enquired as to why he was sitting under a tree smoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fishes for the day. Hearing this the rich man got angry and said: Why don’t you catch more fishes instead of sitting in shadow wasting your time?

Fisherman asked: What would I do by catching more fishes?
Businessman: You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money, and buy a bigger boat.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fishes and earn even more money.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could buy many boats and employ many people to work for you and earn even more money.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could become a rich businessman like me.
Fisherman: What would I do then?
Businessman: You could then enjoy your life peacefully.
Fisherman: What do you think I’m doing right now?

So You don’t need to wait for tomorrow to be happy and enjoy your life. You don’t even need to be more rich, more powerful to enjoy life. LIFE is at this moment, enjoy it fully. As some great men have said “My riches consist not in extent of my possessions but in the fewness of my wants”.

Becz I LOVE YOU - Short Story

One day, a young guy and a young girl fell in love. But the guy came from a poor family. The girl’s parents weren’t too happy. So the young man decided not only to court the girl but to court her parents as well. In time, the parents saw that he was a good man and was worthy of their daughter’s hand.

But there was another problem: The man was a soldier. Soon, war broke out and he was being sent overseas for a year. The week before he left, the man knelt on his knee and asked his lady love, “Will you marry me?” She wiped a tear, said yes, and they were engaged. They agreed that when he got back in one year, they would get married.

But tragedy struck. A few days after he left, the girl had a major vehicular accident. It was a head-on collision. When she woke up in the hospital, she saw her father and mother crying. Immediately, she knew there was something wrong.

She later found out that she suffered brain injury. The part of her brain that controlled her face muscles was damaged. Her once lovely face was now disfigured. She cried as she saw herself in the mirror. “Yesterday, I was beautiful. Today, I’m a monster.” Her body was also covered with so many ugly wounds. Right there and then, she decided to release her fiance from their promise. She knew he wouldn’t want her anymore. She would forget about him and never see him again.

For one year, the soldier wrote many letters—but she wouldn’t answer. He phoned her many times but she wouldn’t return her calls. But after one year, the mother walked into her room and announced, “He’s back from the war.”

The girl shouted, “No! Please don’t tell him about me. Don’t tell him I’m here!” The mother said, “He’s getting married,” and handed her a wedding invitation. The girl’s heart sank. She knew she still loved him—but she had to forget him now.

With great sadness, she opened the wedding invitation. And then she saw her name on it! Confused, she asked, “What is this?” That was when the young man entered her room with a bouquet of flowers. He knelt beside her and asked, “Will you marry me?” The girl covered her face with her hands and said, “I’m ugly!”

The man said, “Without your permission, your mother sent me your photos. When I saw your photos, I realized that nothing has changed. You’re still the person I fell in love. You’re still as beautiful as ever. Because I love you!”

Original Photo

Shirdi Sai Baba

In fact no one knows the date Sai Baba was born, but he was alive physically until October 15, 1918. Sai Baba's real name is unknown. The name "Sai" was given to him upon his arrival at Shirdi, a town in the west-Indian state of Maharashtra. Mahalsapati, a local temple priest, recognized him as a Muslim saint and greeted him with the words 'Ya Sai!', meaning 'Welcome Sai!'.However 'Sai' may also refer to the Sanskrit term "Sakshat Eshwar" or the 'divine'. The honorific "Baba" means "father; grandfather; old man; sir" in Indo-Aryan languages. Thus Sai Baba denotes "holy father"or "saintly father".

Thatzallabout Gilly - For all Gilly Fans

Many critics believe Adam Gilchrist is the greatest wicketkeeper/batsman to have played the game, but Adam's huge popularity does not rest solely on his incredible track record. To his millions of fans around the world, it is the way he plays the game - rather than simply the sum of his achievements - that marks him out as one of the best-loved cricketers of his generation. He is both a swashbuckling batsman and record-breaking wicketkeeper, yet perhaps his true impact has come from the manner in which he plays his cricket - with an integrity and sense of values that many thought had departed the game forever.

A star in the making

Adam Craig Gilchrist was born on the 14th of November 1971 in Bellingen New South Wales, and went to Deniliquin Primary School. He wanted to be the world’s fastest bowler, until he saw a pair of shiney wicketkeeping gloves on the shelf of a Shepparton shop in country Victoria. Stan and June Gilchrist, realising how fascinated the youngest of their four children was with the gloves, later returned and bought them. It was Adam’s Christmas present that year, 1981, and it was the start of his wicketkeeper career, which will have taken him to South Africa, England, New Zealand, India, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the West Indies as his career goes by. Within two years, Adam and his young mates from Deniliquin Primary School had created history, becoming the first country team to win the Taber Shield (a knockout competition for primary schools in New South Wales). Adam was the wicketkeeper, opening batsman, and captain of the team. “He would’ve opened the bowling if he could’ve. He wanted to be in everything.” Stan said of his son. “Adam wanted to be the fastest bowler in the world before he spotted those gloves. Then he wanted to be Rod Marsh - there and then. In 1984, secondary school-teacher Stan was on the move again. This time it was from Deniliquin, in the bottom of New South Wales, to Lismore at the top of the state. Leg-spinner Stan became captain of the local cricket team. Adam 13, cut his teeth in the cricket arena with his siblings, Jacki, Dean, and Glenn, and was promoted to first grade following impressive performances with bat and gloves. “It’s hard to judge on country tracks but I thought he could make a good keeper. He could take me no worries,” Stan said.

A star evolving

In 1989, when captaining Kadina High school in Lismore – and dating current wife and classmate Melinda Sharpe – Gilchrist won a scholarship to play with the Richmond club in London. He did his last year by correspondence. “Adam passed, but not as well as he should have,” Stan said. “The studies were secondary to his sport and he was playing cricket six days a week for six months.” When he returned home, the Gordon club in Sydney contracted Gilchrist. Gordon wanted Adam as backup for Phil Emery, who was often away with state duties. And that’s the direction Gilchrist wanted to go. He later moved to Northern Districts, where he took over from present-day Tasmanian keeper Mark Atkinson. Gilchrist and Emery became good mates, with Adam inquiring Phil how long he intended keeping stumps for the state. “Another three seasons,” Emery told Gilchrist. “If you think you can make it elsewhere, you go for it,” Emery added.

The transition of moving to West Australia

Before Phil Emery announced his retirement earlier this year, he rang Adam to tell him. By then Gilchrist was ready to take over the gloves in the Australian test side, so impressive had he been since moving west for the 1994-95 season. At that time, the Perth cricket club was coached by Mark O’Neill, a former state cricketer with New South Wales and West Australia, and son of former test cricket Norm O’Neill. Mark played with Adam at Gordon. He knew the person and the player and where he wanted to go. “Get Gilchrist,” was O’Neill’s recommendation to Perth. Adam took over from Tim Zoehrer as the West Australian keeper. The loyal Western Australian crowds hated the decision, and unfortunately, the young Gilchrist copped some heavy flack whenever the Warriors came out on their home turf on the WACA. Nevertheless, Gilchrist was a success. As time went by, he entrenched his spot in the Warriors’ ranks. He made the record for the most dismissals by a keeper for Western Australia in a shield season (54) in the 1995/96 season, won over the crowds through his keeping and commanding batting and impressed those who counted his coolness and astuteness. Thus in 1996, when a vice-captain was needed, it was Gilchrist who was chosen, and when he had to fill the captaincy role, he made a huge impression.

An international career began

In 1996, Adam was called upon to cover for the injured Ian Healy in an One-Day International tri-series tournament on the sub-continent for Australia. He had already played for Australia at Under 19, Young Australia levels, and earlier in 1996 appeared for Australia A. Gilchrist, like others, expressed surprise at his selection for Australia, as there were others with more experience that the selectors overlooked. He was then earmarked as Australia’s next keeper, and when the occasion next came to cover for Healy (this time due to Healy being suspended early in 1997), Gilchrist was again called upon. His career shot upwards from there.

Consolidating his spot

Midway through 1997, the Australian selectors restructured the One Day team to model it with versatile all-rounders and big-hitters. Healy, although a fine servant of the One-Day game, was amongst a band of players designated as ‘Test only’ cricketers and dropped from the One-Day side. Gilchrist big hitting was what the Australian selectors were looking for, and he got the nod. The opportunity also served as a taste of the international arena and keep Healy for Test duties (It was apparent that Gilchrist wasn’t yet ready for Test matches). But it meant Gilchrist had to cover old ground, as Healy’s dumping was massively unpopular. Healy was a beloved player and Gilchrist found himself again having to win over crowds, just as he did in WA a few years earlier.

Winning over crowds…

Gilchrist first game in Australia was against South Africa in December 1997 for the 1997-98 World Series in Sydney at the SCG. He was booed – it would take time for him to prove his wealth. At first, it looked as if he would need plenty of time, and scores of 4, 29,29*(not out), 11*, 21, 28, 6, and 20, batting down the order at six and seven, indicated the battle would be long. Then Steve Waugh put Adam in to open the batting for the First Final against South Africa. He made a solid 20. Then in the second final, he was given another chance. It was on Australia Day 1998 at the SCG. He made 100 off only 104 balls, this being his first century in One Day Internationals. Since then, he has opened the batting with Mark Waugh, and they have been regarded as one of the most deadliest opening partnerships going around, and are the fifth most successful ever in One-Day International cricket (on average). Then on February 7th, Adam made a record breaking 154 off only 129 balls against Sri Lanka at the MCG. It was the highest score ever by an Australian player and wicketkeeper in One Day Internationals. Then later that year, he was part of the Australian World Cup winning side in England. He was also part of the team that made a record for playing the most number of games unbeaten in One Day International Cricket.

Believe its Adam Gilchrist bowling

The unbelievable event of Adam Gilchrist bowling happened in the titans of cricket 2011, this was an indoor tournament and Pakistan emerged as winners of this tournament. The funniest part of this was, the likes of Shoaib Akhtar,Steve Harmison,Andrew Flintoff,Jason Gillespie & Sreesanth missed hitting the stump and Gilli got it perfect. His bowling action resembles like Steve Waugh, but look at the way he enjoys after hitting the stumps.

In Your Memories...You Entertained us a lot...Keep rocking for the rest of your life....

Adam Gilchrist and Ricky Ponting share a joke after an ACB Press Conference in which Gilchrist was announced as Australian captain and Ponting vice-captain, held at Melbourne Airport, Melbourne.

Ultimate Friendship Between Two Legends

Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan share a beautiful friendship, which they have been nurturing for more than three decades. Pronouncing Superstar Rajinikanth as his best friend, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan said he could throw a challenge to any one who could vouch for a similar friendship in the industry. The World Star was overwhelmed by the adulation showered on him by industry folks gathered at the function VijayTV organized to feliciate Kamal Haasan on his golden jubilee year in the industry.
Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, the two eyes of Kollywood, have acted together in 10 films. Of these, three were with eminent director K. Balachander, who had a great hand in shaping their careers.

Lavish in his unstinted praise of Kamal Haasan at the felicitation function by Vijay TV, Rajinikanth said he learned acting watching Kamal Haasan. “Kamal was already a star when I made my debut. He had no ego to act alongside a greenhorn when one word against me would have spelt my ruin. KB sir once chided me for not watching Kamal act when my focus had drifted elsewhere with a cigarette for company,” Superstar recalled the beautiful moments.

In the same mood, Rajinikanth said he had the good sense to find his own way of success as there was no way he could have matched the acting brilliance of Kamal. Sharing a rare gem, Rajinikanth said Kamal’s acting talent floored even Bollywood pioneers Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar. ‘If one has to talk of Kamal’s achievements, it could well take two days,” was Rajinikanth’s special and fitting parting shot.

During a function to facilitate Kamal’s fifty years in the film industry, Rajini had reportedly said that all the actors were ‘children of the Goddess of Art’, but ‘Kamal was so special that the Goddess had carried him in her own arms and let the other actors follow her’. This speech of Rajini had indeed received a lot of applause from the audience and the guests and especially Kamal who turned emotional by saying Rajini is his closest friend in the Tamil industry.

While that speech of Rajini would have been forgotten by many, sources say the ‘superstar’ apparently had called a reputed artist to his house to paint what he felt about the description of Kamal with the Goddess of Art. He had expressed his feelings and told his idea of how the painting can be portrayed. Rajini wanted the painting to include superstars from other industries as well and wanted them to be depicted as children.

After a few days, the artist had come up with his version and Rajini was awestruck seeing it. He was so grateful to the artist and he immediately packed the painting and sent it to Kamal’s office. Sources say that after Kamal opened the package he was so happy to see the painting which made him feel so special. Apparently there was a telephonic conversation between the two, where Kamal was reported to have told Rajini, he was moved by this gesture.
The painting has Goddess of Art carrying Kamal in her arms, and superstars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan , Mohanlal , Kannada superstar Vishnuvaradhan and Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi as kids who are playing and following them. Only photos of two stalwarts of Tamil Cinema hang on Kamal’s walls and they are Sivaji Ganesan and Nagesh. Now he has another painting and that too from a special friend. A tale of friendship that all Tamil fans would love to see it blossom.
It became visible once again on Thursday, at the audio launch of Kumki in Chennai. The Superstar, who was a surprise guest to the event, heaped laurels on the Ulaganayagan. “It is an honour to know that the maker of ‘Lord of the Rings’ has asked Kamal Hassan to direct one film for him. Kamal Hassan has inspired many and will continue to do so,” said Rajnikanth

“When I was recuperating, Kamal Hassan had come all the way to Singapore to meet me at the hospital. But the doctors didn’t allow him, or anyone else to visit me because I had very low immunity. I felt bad and called up Kamal to tell him that I would meet him personally once I return home. When I came back to India, I rang Kamal Hassan and after a few casual conversations, told him how much his visit meant to me.”
