The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is a premier national Institute in the country dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology. The Institute has field stations at Kavalur & Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, Gauribidanur & Hosakote in Karnataka, and Leh & Hanle in J&K. The Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO), the high-altitude station of IIA, situated at Hanle at an altitude of 4500 metres above mean sea level. IAO currently has a 2-M Optical and Infrared Telescope, the Himalayan Chandra Telescope (HCT), that is remotely operated via a dedicated Satellite link from IIA's field station, the Centre for Research and Education in Science and Technology (CREST), located at Hosakote, a suburb of Bangalore, situated 45 km in East along NH14.

Qualification:
a) Essential: B.Sc. Passed with subjects Physics and Mathematics with minimum 60% marks in both subjects.
b) Desirable: Knowledge of computer programming
